The 76-year-old woman was killed on Tuesday morning with five stab wounds by a man who stole her suitcase, in the middle of the street on Avenida da Liberdade, Amora, in the municipality of Seixal, she confirmed CM PSP font. The killer is being sought.
The victim was walking down the street alone, with a suitcase slung over her shoulder, when she was approached by a robber, who a witness said was in his 20s and wearing dark clothes. The assailant threatened the elderly woman with a knife and she reportedly put up some resistance and was stabbed in the chest and armpit.
The robber, without looking back, fled the scene and is wanted.
The victim continued to receive assistance from INEM staff, but his death was confirmed at the scene, already in the ambulance, by a VMER doctor.
The PSP was the first to arrive and called the Setúbal Judicial Police, who are on the scene conducting an investigation.
