Benfica won this Friday at home against Boavista with a score of 2:0 in a game of the 18th round of the I Football League, which was resolved only in the second half, returning to one point behind leaders Sporting.
After being scoreless at half-time, the Reds, who had won their fifth league game in a row, took the lead in the 61st minute through Argentina’s Angel Di Maria, with Brazilian Marcos Leonardo sealing the triumph in the 90th minute +4 to force a return to the defeat of Boavista, which has already gone through two games without defeat.
With the win, Benfica maintain second place in the table with 45 points, one behind Sporting, while Boavista remain ninth with 20 points for now.
