Angolan President appoints planning minister and new secretaries of state

This Monday, the Angolan head of state appointed Vitor Hugo Guilherme as Minister of Planning, four new secretaries of state for his government and a new presidential secretary for economic affairs.

João Lourenço, by presidential decree, appointed Vítor Hugo Guilherme to the position of Minister of Planning when he was appointed Minister of Economy and Planning on December 13, 2013, replacing Mario Caetano João.

Augusta de Carvalho Gando Frederico Fortes will take over as Secretary of State for Trade and Services, a new achievement in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, while Luis Conjimbi Kaika Epalanga will become the new Secretary of State for Planning.

Iván Emanuel Marqués dos Santos has been appointed to the position of Secretary of State for Public Investment, which was previously held by Jousena Clara Danielle Cristiano de Souza, who moves to the position of Secretary of State for Budget.

Milton Parmenio dos Santos Reis, then Minister of Planning, was appointed Secretary of the President of the Republic for Economic Affairs.

The Angolan President, by another decree, ended the term of Lello João Francisco as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Agency for the Promotion of Private Investment and Export (AIPEX) and appointed Arlindo das Chagas Rangel in his place.

The head of state of Angola, “always for the convenience of service,” notes a press release from the press secretariat of the presidential palace, also terminated the powers of the entities on the board of directors of the Angolan Customs Warehouse (EAC). .

Eduardo Julia de Almeida Machado, dismissed as President of the EAA Board of Directors, Santos Augusto Mussamo as Executive Administrator, Carlos Filomeno de Martino dos Santos Cordeiro, Executive Administrator, and Laureano Rebelo Aragao and Madaleno do Rosario da Costa as Non-Executive Directors.

Meanwhile, Adriano Pereira de Carvalho Junior (President of the Board of Directors), Francisco Manuel Massango and Tuneka Lukau have been appointed to the EAA Board of Directors as Executive Directors.

The Angola Customs Warehouse will become the new operator of the country’s Strategic Food Reserve, which is undergoing a restructuring process.
