The latest data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) shows that the interest rate built into home loan contracts reached its highest level since 2009 in December, reaching 4.593%, up 6.9 basis points from last month. The average contribution reached 400 euros, which is 101 euros more than in the previous year and this amount has never been fixed since 2009. During the past year, the average annual interest rate reached 3.612%, and in 2022 it was 1.084%.
In leasing the situation is repeated. The latest INE data shows that in the third quarter of 2023, average new contract revenue was up 10.5% compared to 2022.
