The last operational vehicle at the GNR station in Baiana was without a clutch on Tuesday, leaving the municipality where the interior minister is based with only a foot patrol or forced to request support from colleagues in the municipalities of Marco de Canaveses and Amarante.
Of the four vehicles assigned to Bayan Station, one (Nissan Patrol) failed inspection and was sent to the workshop several weeks ago; the other two (Citroen Elysee and Toyota Hilux) had unrepaired faults. This Monday, a Nissan Almera with a mileage of more than 600 thousand kilometers had to be towed to the workshop.
“It is ironic that the minister is announcing a major investment in the security forces, but in his country the military has no vehicles to work with,” accuses the northern region coordinator of the Association of Professional Security Guards (APG/GNR). Paulo Pinto.
