Pinto da Costa returns to invest in FC Porto’s SAD

The president of FC Porto, Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa, who has already strengthened his position at the end of 2023, has acquired another 4,090 shares of SAD “blue and white”, the company informed the market this Friday.

First, on January 4, Pinto da Costa bought 2,740 shares at a price of 1.25 euros per unit, and on Thursday he added another 1,350 shares of SAD Porto (1.23), resulting in a global investment of 5,085.50 euros in both operations. This was reported by the Securities Market Commission (CMVM).

The director has once again slightly strengthened his position in society after a series of transactions completed between November 2022 and May last year and two more in December.

According to the latest report and accounts submitted by the SAD of FC Porto to the CMVM regarding the 2022/23 season, 85-year-old Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa owned 343,993 shares, corresponding to 1.53% of the share capital, as of June 30. .

The majority of SAD is owned directly by the club (74.59%), and businessman, former footballer and former coach António Oliveira is the main individual shareholder (7.34%), followed by his brother Joaquim Oliveira through the company Olivedesportos (6.68%) .

Pinto da Costa is due to join businessman Nuno Lobo, the defeated candidate in 2020, and Andre Villas-Boas, a former top football team coach, in elections to be held for FC Porto’s governing bodies for the four-year period 2024-2028, which are due to take place. in April, during the riots around the club due to Operation Praetorian.

On Wednesday, the Public Security Police (PSP) detained 12 people, including two employees of FC Porto and Super Dragoes leader Fernando Madureira, as part of Operation Praetorian, which investigates incidents that occurred during the emergency situations. General Assembly (GA) of the club.

According to court documents accessed by Lusa, the ministry alleges that Super Dragons fans intended to “create an atmosphere of intimidation and fear” at the Porto AG stadium on November 13, 2023, resulting in the incidents. , so that a legislative review could be approved “in the interests of the current” Blue and White leadership.

The Office of the Prosecutor General of Porto announced that “crimes against physical integrity in the context of a sports spectacle or event related to a sports phenomenon, aggravated coercion and menace, public incitement to a crime, throwing objects or liquid products, and an attack on freedom of information” .
