Two minors, aged 13 and 16, were arrested on suspicion of gagging and killing their mother on Wednesday in Cantabria province, Spain. The young people presented themselves as victims of a kidnapping attempt that would have ended in the death of their mother.
According to El Spanish, Early Thursday morning, the boys called their grandmother and told her this version of events.
The body of a 48-year-old woman was found Wednesday evening in the back seat of her own car, leaning against the wall of her garage. He was gagged, his head was covered with a garbage bag, and he suffered several injuries. At the time the body was discovered, the whereabouts of the children were unknown.
Police suspected the minors from an early age and mobilized resources to locate them. As a result, two were detained.
When the police arrived at the place where the young people were found, the minors eventually admitted to their crime. According to investigators, the older brother fatally attacked his mother, hitting her in the neck with a sharp object.
