Navarrese farmers announce that they will continue the mobilizations starting Monday

“The mobilizations will continue because the general interests do not lie solely in the economic, but go beyond. And at the European level, we do not have any commitment or resolution in this regard,” the farmers explained.

The Navarrese farmers and ranchers gathered this Saturday at Tafalla have clarified that They abandoned the protests in the center of Pamplona “as a gesture of good will towards the Government of Navarra for its predisposition to dialogue” and they have announced that the mobilizations will continue starting Monday.

“The mobilizations will continue because the general interests do not lie solely in the economic, but go beyond. And at the European level, we do not have any commitment or resolution in this regard,” they explain in a statement.

At the meeting, farmers and ranchers have appointed two representatives from each zone that, from now on, they will make the appropriate decisions and agree on the communications that are communicated to public opinion.

Likewise, they have exposed the commitments acquired by the Government of Navarra at this Friday’s meeting, how to find a solution to the delay in the VAT refund that the sector has to face, and review the CAP’s parcel control system. In that sense, the signed commitment will be sufficient and georeference photos will not be necessary.

There was also a firm commitment to irrigation in Navarra, to the equalization of Navarrese taxation with the rest of the autonomies, to promoting the ‘green harvest’, and to working on the Food Chain Law.

Rural Development is also committed to working to simplify the CAP, and to extend the five-day period for the removal of manure and organic materials arranged in piles.
