This Tuesday, prison guards begin a nearly two-week stagecoach strike. This is a protest called by the National Union of Prison Guards (SNCGP) that could jeopardize the transport of prisoners to the courts.
According to the preliminary notice of the strike, which will take place from 00:00 on February 13 to 23:59 on February 25, the purpose of the strike is to “increase the value and dignity of professionals”, “restructure salary allowances” and “approval of a system for assessing the performance of prison guards, which has already been completed.”
The advance notice sent to the government, regional governments, the Directorate General of Reintegration and Prison Services (DGRSP) and the country’s prison directors “declares a strike in the care service” for the specified period.
With the same demands, SNCGP had already planned to continue this strike between 26 February and 9 March and held a general 24-hour strike on 31 January, having in the meantime received a promise from the government that approval would be given by March. evaluation and performance systems.
Prison guards have also been present at security force protests over the past month, motivated mainly by the provision of travel allowances to the SMM, leaving out not only prison guards, but also the PSP and SNR.
