The central group islands (Terceira, São Jorge, Pico, Graciosa and Faial) were under a yellow warning until 07:00 local time on Tuesday (08:00 in Lisbon), but the IPMA extended the warning until 17:00 local time (18 :00 in Lisbon) due to the forecast of “precipitation, heavy in places.”
Also according to the IPMA statement, in the group of Eastern Azores (Sao Miguel and Santa Maria) a yellow warning, also due to “rain, sometimes heavy”, is in effect from 14:00 local time (15:00 in Lisbon) until 23 :00 local time. time is Tuesday (00:00 Wednesday, in Lisbon).
A yellow warning, the least severe on a scale of three, is issued whenever a risk situation arises for certain activities due to weather conditions.
