A 26-year-old woman was left with an electronic bracelet after being detained in Ponte de Lima for domestic violence against her 57-year-old mother, Viana do Castelo GNR reported this Thursday.
In a statement sent to the editor, the territorial command of the PNP Viana do Castelo explains that after the presence of the judicial authority, in addition to the coercive measure of the electronic bracelet, a distance of 200 meters from the victim’s place of residence and a ban on contact were ordered with the same.
In the note, GNR clarifies that the arrest occurred “as part of a domestic violence investigation,” while “Guard soldiers carried out measures that allowed them to determine that the aggressor used physical and psychological violence against the victim, her 57-year-old mother, causing fear in the victim and anxiety”.
The arrest warrant was executed on Tuesday by the Center for Investigation and Specific Victim Support (NIAVE).
