The trial of the main suspect in the murder of Madeleine McCann ended ahead of schedule and will resume on February 23, it became known this Friday at a hearing held in Braunschweig, Germany.
As soon as Christian Bruckner arrived in court, the defense filed a motion, arguing that the jury member was unfit to perform his duties. This is due to the fact that this participant shared insults against former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro on the social network X (formerly Twitter), in which he called for the death of the statesman.
The session was initially interrupted for 30 minutes shortly after it began, at 10am local time (9am in Portugal). After resuming it was postponed.
The main suspect in Maddie’s death arrived in court with his head down but apparently healthy, never looking into the reporters’ cameras.
Trial for five crimes
Christian Brückner This Friday he began to be tried for three crimes of rape and two sexual abuse of minors committed in Portugal.
Lawyer for Brückner says he is “confident” about the trial, which could last until June. Near this court there is a large police apparatus.
The trial will hear from witnesses who could be crucial in Maddie McCann’s case.
