Twenty-five surfers, Portuguese and foreign, aged between 18 and 30, were rescued this Saturday at 17:35 from a large body of water on Carcavelos beach in Cascais.
The alarm was raised at 17:35, after swimmers (the beach is very busy this afternoon due to good weather) realized that the group was stranded.
The shipwrecked institute’s lifeboat was immediately called and managed to rescue 20 people. Everyone was taken to the Oeiras marina.
The remaining five were pulled ashore by rescuers hired by the Cascais municipality during the winter.
