All European Union countries except Hungary called for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip on Monday, according to the report. euronews.
The decision was made ten hours later, after a meeting with all EU foreign ministers, which was attended by Peter Szijjarto, but refused to sign the appeal, like other countries.
Although Hungary is against it, the remaining countries, 26 of the 27 EU member states, issued a statement calling for “an immediate humanitarian pause that could lead to a sustainable ceasefire” in the Gaza Strip.
EU countries are also calling on Israel not to launch its planned attack on Rafah. An attack on Rafah “would worsen an already catastrophic humanitarian situation and impede the urgent provision of essential services and humanitarian assistance,” the statement in question said.
