A group of five men and a woman stole a sum of money (estimated to be several hundred euros) from the cash desk of the Caixa Geral de Depósitos branch in Palmela. And to do this, they only needed to distract the only employee on duty.
The warning was issued by the last person to call GNR at 1.30pm this Thursday. According to a bank employee, a group of thieves arrived at the bank asking for help in a situation occurring near an ATM installed next to the above-mentioned Caixa counter.
The employee agreed to accompany the woman abroad to provide assistance, but found nothing. However, the other five members of the group took advantage of this and stole all the money they had.
The robbers fled and the NPR was called in to investigate.
