This Thursday, Benfica drew 0:0 at home with the French Toulouse. The result saw the Reds progress to the last 16 of the Europa League after winning 2-1 in Lisbon.

In the return match of the playoffs for reaching the 1/8 finals of the tournament, the Portuguese national team scored two goals from the Argentine Angel Di Maria in the first match, both from penalties, which allowed them to win with a minimal difference, guaranteeing sixth place in the top 16 of the Europa League after 2009/10, 2010/11, 2012/13, 2013/14 and 2018/19, losing the finals in 2013 and 2014.

The draw for the round of 16 will take place on Friday in Nyon, Switzerland.
