About 70 thousand workers of private institutions of social solidarity (IPSS) will see their salaries increase by 3.75%, said this Friday the deputy secretary general of the National Federation of Education (FNE), José Ricardo Coelho.
The announcement was made by FNE within the framework of the UGT Trade Union Front (FSUGT), which this Friday will sign an agreement with the National Confederation of Solidarity Institutes (CNIS).
“This is due to the revision of the collective labor agreement for IPSS. This sector of the social economy employs about four thousand employers and about 70 thousand teachers and non-teachers,” said Luse José Ricardo Coelho.
The agreement, according to the statement, should provide “positive benefits for the majority of all who are committed to the cause of the social and solidarity sector.”
“It was an agreement that also valued the work of teachers and non-teachers. We can say that this salary increase for non-teaching staff will increase by 5.71% compared to the salaries of 2023,” emphasized José Ricardo Coelho.
“This was not an easy agreement. We have been negotiating the revision of the collective labor agreement since November last year, about four months ago,” he emphasized.
In a statement, FNE jointly with FGUGT indicated that remuneration and other monetary issues are retroactive to January 1 of this year.
“This is an agreement that increases workers’ compensation globally by approximately 3.75%. And if we highlight general career workers in Table A of the Collective Agreement, the increase will be 5.71%,” it says.
The union forces stressed that “a new victory has yet been achieved” with the extension of service by one more day.
According to FNE, this is a positive aspect of recognizing the professional experience associated with an employee’s seniority.
“FNE does not hide the difficulties that year after year it experiences in negotiating financial issues with the social sector, mainly due to the main support for this sector of the social economy from the state,” he lamented.
