The Parents Fight for Education movement plans to demonstrate this Saturday in Lisbon in defense of public schools, with a march from the old building of the Ministry of Education to the Assembly of the Republic.
The meeting is scheduled for 15:00 in the former building of the Ministry of Education on Avenida 5 de Otubro, from where they will then proceed to the Assembly of the Republic.
“Are you unhappy with the current conditions in public schools? Come show your outrage and let your children have a say,” reads a message posted on social media by Parents Fight for Education, advocating “a truly inclusive education that meets all our needs and has quality “
The protest also supports the Missão Escola Pública movement, the second it is participating in this month, following a rally in Largo do Carmo on February 10 and a march that attracted hundreds of teachers in Lisbon last weekend.
Prior to the legislative elections on March 10, the Public Schools Mission has also planned a public school rally for the 2nd, also in Lisbon.
