The President of the Liberal Initiative (IL), Rui Rocha, this Sunday accused the Bloc de Esquerda (BE) of “totally false accusations” that the party is financed by “rivers of money” from millionaires.
“It is important to start with the fact that this is a completely false accusation, party financing, as you know, has its own legislation,” the Liberal said after BE leader Mariana Mortagua said on Saturday that one aspect of the “Right Cavalcade” and “ the political changes” of these elections are “rivers of money that flow from the coffers of millionaires” into parties such as Chega and IL.
On the first day of the official campaign for the legislative elections on March 10 and after an external visit to a school in Azeitan, Setúbal district, Rui Rocha stressed that IL’s funding is transparent and verified, adding that the party’s funding follows rules that are the same for everyone.
