The Spanish press is reporting this morning that after allegedly assaulting and raping a 23-year-old girl in a bathtub at a disco in Barcelona, Dani Alves walked past the victim before leaving the scene in an indifferent manner.
Seeing a young woman crying in the company of her friends, a security guard at a discotheque would activate Spain’s protocol against sexist violence. “There was no consolation. I asked her, “What happened? Tell me what happened! You must calm down.”
El Periódico explains that before leaving the club after the alleged sexual assault, Dani Alves went to a bar and asked for one last drink. La Vanguardia adds that the former Barcelona player stumbled upon a victim who was crying while ignoring her.
The woman was eventually taken to the hospital, where biological evidence was collected.
Remember that everything happened on the night of December 30-31 last year. The Brazilian defender was arrested on 20 January when he appeared to testify at a Barcelona police station.
The judge who heard the case placed him on remand, considering that there was a risk of absconding.
Meanwhile, the footballer’s relatives are already in Spain. The mother was seen entering the office of the lawyers representing Dani Alves with her head bowed and sad. The reporter asked him if he believed in his son’s innocence, and Lucia Alves nodded in the affirmative.
