Lukas Podolski, a former Arsenal, Inter or Bayern Munich player, is still active, but it is not his sporting exploits that have stood out the most in recent times.
The German world champion is worth more than €200 million from investments in a chain of kebab restaurants in his home country.
Moreover, it reveals Sun, launched a music festival, sports hub and football tournament featuring influencers, former players and fans. The current Gornik Zabrze player from Poland created the ice cream brand in 2017 while playing for Japanese club Vissel Kobe.
A year later, he created Mangal Doner, a kebab restaurant that has already opened more than 30 locations in Germany.
Podolski openly supported his business, not shying away from criticizing competitors. “If you go to McDonald’s, you’ll pay the same as my restaurants, maybe more. But the food will be crappy, low quality,” he said.
His personal wealth has increased since he invested in these businesses, but his salary as a player has increased these numbers. The German was one of the highest paid players when he played for Arsenal from 2012 to 2014.
This season he has already scored three goals and assisted his colleagues five times in 18 matches in the Polish First League. He has played for the German national team 130 times and has already won ten titles, including the world champion in 2014.
