Last night, the PSP in Lisbon arrested two people for drug possession, seized edged weapons and controlled 78 people during a special operation in Cais do Sodré.
Operations leader Thiago Fernandes told Lusa that the PSP Lisbon Metropolitan Authority also checked 30 vehicles, finding seven uncertified taxi drivers and seizing the vehicle in question.
When checking nightlife establishments in this area of the capital, it was revealed that in two cases the perpetrators did not send customer complaints to the Food and Economic Security Administration (ASEB).
The PSP also found 12 instances where the guards were out of uniform and two instances where the head of security was absent.
The PSP said in a statement that the operation aims to “detect and seize illegal bladed weapons and firearms, as well as the prevention and suppression of violent crime and increase the sense of security in entertainment areas with the maximum concentration and abundance of people.”
The PSP deployed the Criminal Investigation Force, Rapid Response Teams, Prevention and Immediate Response Teams, Patrols, Private Security and Inspection, and a Special Police Unit in this operation.
