This Friday, the fifth hearing took place in the case of the death of Igor Silva, a Porto fan who was stabbed 18 times during the celebrations of the 2022 title. at the São João Novo court in Porto.
The session was marked by moments of tension. It all happened when one of the witnesses left the court and was insulted by relatives and friends of some of the defendants. Igor Silva’s family could not remain silent. The PSP had to create a cordon to maintain calm.
Igor Silva’s friend was the first witness to be heard. He told the court that he saw Igor being chased and disappearing into the crowd that was there during the celebration of FC Porto. He also said that during the chase he saw “questionable” movements that he associated with the stabbing.
“Marco [Orelhas] he hit Igor when he was already lying on the ground and said something. “He showed off his body,” he assured.
He also said that Igor was cornered and that when he saw that he was being pursued, he realized that he was going to kill.
The court heard from two witnesses who were at both the FC Porto party and the game in Luz where the clashes took place. The prosecutor’s office demanded that the certificate be withdrawn due to false testimony.
The statement they gave to the authorities and the one they gave in court are different.
One of the witnesses heard in court this Friday asked to testify without the presence of the defendants. Contrary to what he told the judicial police, this witness stated in court that Renato (son of Marco Orelhas) did not show him the knife before committing the crime.
He also explained that he saw the group in which the accused were chasing Igor Silva, and saw Renato sticking a knife into the victim’s stomach.
The last session was marked by remarkable testimonies. Among them is a friend of the victim, who claims that she learned about the attacks at the Estádio da Luz stadium from Igor through messages. The woman claimed that she saw Renato Goncalves stab her boyfriend.
remember, that Igor Silva was killed on May 8, 2022, outside the Dragao stadium during FC Porto’s title celebrations.
