‘Ventura thinks too much’ about people’s problems, says Paulo Raimundo

On Tuesday, the PKP secretary general accused Chegi President Andre Ventura of not caring about the people and only thinking about “coming to power at any cost.”

Paulo Raimundo’s position comes after an interview with RTP on Monday by the leader of the far-right party, in which he said that right-wing parties should say whether they are ready to “create mutual understanding” if they achieve a majority in parliament. legislative elections to form a stable government.

“This statement is even important at this moment because it reveals three problems: first, besides all the speech Andre Ventura has, deep down he panders to people and their problems. What you want is to come to power, no matter what. Means. And he wants to come to power to return to a previous era, to return to the project that we interrupted with the power of the people in 2015,” he defended, adding as a second advantage evidence that the CDU “is the most significant force” in the fight against right.

Paulo Raimundo spoke to journalists during a visit to the Almeirim moat in the district of Santarem, where he raised awareness of environmental problems, citing as an example the hyacinth plague in the watercourse that runs from Chamusca to Tagus. And it was with this example that he pointed out the third advantage of the words of Andre Ventura, who linked the Almeirim moat with the configuration of the parliament after the elections of March 10.

“Third [vantagem]“Since we are within this framework, this is another reason why we need the kingfishers from PEV and PKP to go and deal with the hyacinths who, apparently, want to flourish in the Assembly of the Republic,” he stressed to the company of the CDU list leader from Santarem Bernardino Soares and the candidates of the Os Verdes party for the HDZ in the Setubal and Lisbon constituencies – Eloisa Apolonia and Mariana Silva, respectively.

The communist leader also recalled that President Chegi “has already done this maneuver in the Azores and will try to do it now,” noting that “this is a problem that the right will have to solve.” However, he denied that the election campaign was metaphorically affected by the hyacinth plague, such as the Almeirim ditch.

“At this size, I don’t think so. Of course, a hyacinth here, a hyacinth there… The problem is not that the hyacinth is here, the hyacinth there; the problem is that the hyacinths are all gathered here and that we need kingfishers, we need Eloise From March 10, the hyacinths will not gather together in the Assembly of the Republic. [Apolónia] and other MPs from PEV and PKP, real kingfishers who will take care of the hyacinth plague,” he concluded.

In an interview with RTP, Ventura pointed out that there are PSD leaders who have “made themselves known publicly,” naming the names of Pedro Passos Coelho, Miguel Relvas, Angelo Correia and Rui Gomes da Silva.

President Chegi was asked by journalists on Monday evening in Portalegre whether these Social Democrats had conveyed this position directly to him, and he replied that they had not.

“What I said today [esta terça-feira] In an interview with RTP, some of these people, including several important PSD figures, said that Luis Montenegro must find a solution,” he said.

When asked to indicate who gave him this information, the Chegi leader refused: “If I didn’t say it then, I won’t say it now.”

“This is evidence that the PSD will not allow, when I called for manpower, and some even stated this publicly, will not allow the PS to rule the country at the whim of Luis Montenegro,” he said.
