The consignment of frozen potatoes and squid seized by the Judicial Police (PJ) and containing 1.3 tons of cocaine coming from Ecuador, South America, was legally ordered by the company and arrived at the port of Lisbon about a week ago.
The UNCTE has identified the importing company, which is not currently a defendant. The seven people arrested in the operation (five Portuguese, one Colombian and one Dutch) belong to a network that wanted to introduce cocaine with an estimated value of 39 million euros into the European market. The UNCTE intervention took place at a logistics warehouse in Óbidos, where drug traffickers took the fish.
