A man allegedly attacked and spat on four members of the Chegi delegation as three party vehicles campaigned this Thursday morning in the center of Caldas da Rainha.
According to the party, at 11:30 a.m., the suspect forced open the door of one of the cars and on the third attempt managed to pull the driver out, which resulted in him dumping a juice packet on her.
According to the same source, the man kicked the cars, breaking the mirrors and removing party flags from the cars.
The district president filed a criminal complaint with the police, but authorities have not yet identified the suspect.
Andre Ventura, Chegi’s president, also said Thursday afternoon that some leaders had been attacked and that he would file a complaint.
“We will naturally present the complaint that we have to make,” he noted, given that “the system is in despair” in the face of the possibility of Chegi winning the elections, despite polls showing that she will continue to be the third political force .
President Chegi also added that “equally desperate are those criminals who run around the country and attack us because they know that from March 10 their place will be in prison,” he added.
Without naming anyone specifically, Andre Ventura considered such actions to be “a sign of the desperation in which they are.”
“They have already lost the argument about reason, the argument about rationality, they have forgotten the idea of beating us in arguments, they are attacking, they are resorting to violence and insults,” he asserted, ensuring that Chega is not intimidated. .
