Esther’s story is told in the documentary “Vozes de 7 de Outubro”, whose main characters are victims of the Hamas attack. The woman said that she survived thanks to a conversation with Islamic radicals. “I’m from Argentina, but he didn’t know where it was, so I asked him: ‘Do you like football?’ He said yes and I explained that he is from the same country as Messi,” he said. After saying that she was Argentine, like Messi, one of the attackers told her that he was a big fan of the Pampas team captain. They ended up taking a photo of Esther with a gun in her lap and the Hamas fighter who left her free. That day, Hamas killed and kidnapped a quarter of the kibbutz’s residents.
