Mainland Portugal recorded 36 incidents overnight, far fewer than Friday’s 349, as they were concentrated mainly in the northern region, a civil protection source told Lusa.
Thus, from 0:00 to 8:00 there were 36 incidents that most affected the North, with 20 of them related to road clearing, a source from the National Emergency Management and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) said. Eight of them were reported in the Porto capital region, he said.
He stressed that there was no significant material damage or casualties.
On Friday, 349 incidents due to bad weather were reported on the Portuguese mainland until 21:00, with Greater Lisbon and the Porto metropolitan area the worst affected regions, according to a civil protection source.
ANEPC warned the public to take preventive measures due to worsening weather conditions, rough seas, wind and snowfall.
