Police have recovered 34 bodies that were improperly stored at a funeral home in England.

English police have recovered 34 bodies that were improperly stored at a funeral home in the north of the country. A 23-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of obstructing a burial and fraud.

In accordance with Sky Newsthe bodies were moved from one of Legacy Funeral Directors’ three offices to the morgue so that formal identification procedures could be conducted.

Authorities were called after several reports of “concerns regarding the care of the deceased” were received. The funeral home is accused of negligence in the process of storing the bodies. Two headquarters of the same company continue to be the target of searches.

“Numerous inquiries have been carried out to establish the exact details, issues and circumstances,” Humberside Police said in a statement.
