Socrates and Albuquerque are suspected in connection with evidence of propaganda crimes

The National Electoral Commission (CNE) forwarded to the ministry statements made during the vote by former Prime Minister José Sócrates and outgoing Madeiran Government President Miguel Albuquerque, deeming there were “signs of a propaganda crime.” . “I voted for the party I was associated with,” said José Sócrates, before revealing that he had never voted “with such conviction.” In turn, Miguel Albuquerque considered that the political crisis in the region would not prevent Madeirans from voting, expressing confidence in the victory of one party and attributing “great wear and tear” to the other party. Both statements “could interfere with the process of shaping the will of voters,” CNE said.
