André Ventura said this Monday that ignoring Chega “tramples the million Portuguese” who went to the polls to vote. In an interview with CNN PortugalThe party leader said he was tired of being “humiliated” by the Democratic Alliance (AD) and said the lack of will to find a solution that would allow the country to achieve four years of stability was “excellent”.
The president of Portugal’s third political force accused the AD of creating a situation of instability by abandoning an agreement guaranteeing good governance.
“What is the problem of achieving convergence to give the Portuguese four years of stability? If they don’t even want to look at our proposals, then this is not an attack on us, it is an attack on a million Portuguese. [AD] I am not responsible for the uncontrollability,” Ventura said.
Even though he considered AD’s position to be “arrogant and arrogant,” Ventura assured that he was still willing to concede to find a path to the right, as that is what voters demonstrated at the polls.
According to President Chegi, it is necessary to “negotiate” in order to achieve stability. He gave the example of life imprisonment, with which he agrees, but is ready to abdicate if answers are given to other, more pressing topics.
However, there is one issue on which he is unwilling to concede because he considers it extremely important: replenishment of the security forces.
Although President Chegi considers the agreement the most effective decision of the government, he states that he will continue to criticize the PSD whenever necessary.
“I don’t see an agreement in the government on the need for the parties to support each other. Chega doesn’t want to be anyone’s support. I’m not here to please Luis Montenegro,” he said.
