Footballer Danny Namaso has criticized the actions of Porto fans towards his girlfriend and friends in the Champions League match against Arsenal on Tuesday. The Dragons forward’s girlfriend took to Instagram to describe situations of “racial and physical abuse”.
“The adult men and some women refused to let us sit in our seats, pushed my friend hard, laughed hysterically several times, filmed us and pushed me while we were seated,” he said.
This Wednesday, Danny Namaso regretted what happened. “Porto fans are the best in the world, but I am sad to hear this news yesterday. [terça-feira]. My girlfriend, my friends or anyone else should be able to watch Porto play in peace without being the target of racial abuse from some of our fans,” he wrote on the social network Instagram.
On the pitch, Arsenal eliminated Porto in the round of 16 of the Champions League on penalties. After winning the first leg 1-0, the Dragons saw the English side equalize through Trossard in the 41st minute, scoring only two penalties (Wendell and Galeno missed) to the Gunners’ four.
