In Estremoz, a fire destroyed houses and injured a firefighter.

This Saturday, a fire destroyed a house in Monte da Cortiza in the area of ​​São Lourenço de Mamporcan, in the municipality of Estremoz, Évora district, leaving one person slightly injured, a civil protection source told Lusa.

A source at the Subregional Command for Emergency Situations and Civil Protection of Central Alentejo said the fire alarm was raised at 10:31.

“The fire completely destroyed the contents of the house, which was temporarily uninhabited and no one was home at the time of the fire,” the same source said.

The lightly injured person was a firefighter from the Estremoz Corporation, who was taken to the basic emergency service of the Estremoz Medical Center, he added.

Fifteen firefighters from Estremoz, E-Redes and GNR, supported by six vehicles, were mobilized to the scene.
