This Monday, Monica Silva’s aunt received a signed, handwritten letter in the mail. The man claims to know the details of the disappearance of a pregnant woman and blames two Brazilians hired by Fernando Valente.
“A week before Christmas I saw on television someone talking to two Brazilians. I saw them running away. All I can say is that it was either in Murtos or Torreira. If they took the body, then it was all planned. Fernando Valente. He must speak truth to justice. Philomena worked hard,” the letter says.

In the letter, the alleged author asks Fernando Valente to “confess everything,” a family member of the missing pregnant woman said. “Someone saw it and said it was two Brazilians on the orders of Fernando Valente,” Philomena read.
Monica’s aunt adds that the letter was sent to Murtosa’s post office and then forwarded to her home.
Philomena also states that “everyone who saw something,” like the supposed author of the letter, must tell what happened. “Too much time has passed, almost six months have passed. Don’t forget Monica, keep fighting,” he adds.
Monica Silva disappeared in October in Mourtos. The family still hopes to find the body.
