Russian President Vladimir Putin said this Saturday that suspects in the attack, which killed more than 140 people, were captured and detained while trying to flee to Ukraine. The Russian leader declared Sunday a day of national mourning and guaranteed that those responsible for the massacre would be held accountable for their crimes.
“They were heading towards Ukraine, where, according to preliminary data (of investigations), a “window” was prepared for them to cross the border.
