Midfielder Matheus Nunez was absent from Portugal’s training this Sunday with a foot complaint, while goalkeeper Diogo Costa returned to the squad with an eye on the match against Slovenia.
At the new afternoon training session at the Cidade do Futebol in Oeiras, the technical team, led by coach Roberto Martinez, divided the 19 available outfield players into two groups, using vests and performing traditional drills with and without the ball.
With 15 minutes of training open to the media, the four goalkeepers (Samuel Soares still focused on the first team) returned to train separately, on a pitch adjacent to the main pitch and very far from the eyes of journalists.
