TVI and SIC fight until the end of March

With a week left until the end of the month, it is still unclear who will win the battle for ratings in March: TVI or SIC. Until this Sunday, the radio station Queluz de Baixo, which in February regained its leadership after five years, had, according to official data provided by GfK (the company responsible for audience measurement in Portugal), an average share of 15.1%, which is 0. 3 percentage points more than the Paço de Arcos channel (14.8%).

However, It is even possible that the positions will change places. In determining the winning channel in the third month of 2024, the behavior of viewers of the new season of Big Brother (TVI), which debuted this Sunday evening with Claudio Ramos, again in the presentation, will be decisive.

It should also be noted that RTP 1’s share is currently 10.7%, and RTP 2’s share is 0.8%.

In annual terms, TVI currently leads with a share of 15.1%, just 0.1 percentage point more than SIC. The RTP 1 share is 10.9%, while the RTP 2 share is only 0.8%.

Let us recall that in February, five years and one month after SIC lost its leadership, TVI again became the leader among viewers in Portugal. This was the month he celebrated his 31st birthday.

According to GfK, the station Queluz de Baixo registered a share of 15.6% versus 15.0% for the third channel. During the defeat, the SIC congratulated TVI on the achievement – through communication on the antenna and on social networks, as well as sending a helicopter that flew over Queluz de Baixo – and Mário Ferreira (CEO of Media Capital, TVI) praised CM competitor. “They are good at what they do,” he said.
