Montenegro meets with Pedro Nuno Santos to begin elections for the presidency of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Deputies will meet again this Wednesday in plenary session at 12 noon to try again to elect the President of the Assembly of the Republic after three failed attempts on Tuesday. Parties have until 11 a.m. to submit new nominations.

The first plenary session of the XVI Legislative Assembly began on Tuesday morning with several interruptions. The name nominated for the post of President of the Assembly of the Republic was not elected in the first vote. Jose Pedro Aguiar-Branco received 89 votes, with 134 white votes and seven zero votes. needed 116.

In the second vote with three candidates, the result was: Aguiar-Branco (PSD) – 88 votes, candidate Francisco Assis (PS) – 90 and Manuela Tender (Chega) – 49 votes.
