The Executive Directorate of the National Health Service (DE-SNS) announced on Tuesday how the country’s maternity hospitals will operate in the first half of 2023.
According to the SNS statement, in the Center and Alentejo region, all units will operate continuously. In the Algarve region, the Faro block will operate “continuously”, and in Portimão – “as planned”.
Solutions for the Nordic region, as well as for the Lisbon region and the Tagus Valley have already been announced previously, without any changes. In the north, all units will operate uninterrupted, while in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, four units will operate permanently and nine will operate with “alternate opening”.
