A 79-year-old man, sentenced to 20 years in prison in Luxembourg for sexual offenses against his daughters committed with physical violence between 2007 and 2008, was arrested by the Criminal Information Unit of the Judicial Police (PJ) in Luxembourg. Portimao area.
The man, a Portuguese, had been on the run for about 15 years and had a European arrest warrant issued by Luxembourg authorities “for committing 15 crimes of child sexual abuse and crimes against physical integrity,” he explained to PJ.
The arrest occurred after “research and analysis of criminal information, complemented by operational measures.” Present at the Court of Appeal of Évora, he was placed in preventive detention pending extradition.
