The obstetric service at the Beatrice Angelo Hospital in Loures will be subject to restrictions until 8 a.m. Monday and will not accept pregnant women transported in ambulances, a fire department source told Loures this Sunday.
Firefighters from Camarate, a corporation located in the area of the Beatrice Angelo Hospital, said that the maternity ward and the emergency gynecology and obstetrics department of the medical department will not accept pregnant women brought by ambulance until 8:00 a.m. Monday, and information will be required transferred to CODU (Centre for Emergency Patient Care), which redirects users to another hospital in the Lisbon region, explained a source in this corporation.
The restrictions on obstetric services at the Beatriz Angelou Hospital for pregnant women referred by CODU and INEM were also confirmed to Lusa by the regional secretary of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo of the Independent Union of Doctors (SIM), Maria João Thiago, citing the situation with the shortage of doctors.
