The 35-year-old man was in pre-trial detention after being detained by the Judicial Police (PJ) on suspicion of attempted murder of another, 32-year-old man, almost a year ago, in the municipality of Mora (Évora), announced this Friday.
The SP said in a statement that the suspect was arrested by members of the Évora local criminal investigation department of the police on Thursday in the district of Casem, municipality of Sintra (Lisbon).
According to the joint venture, the alleged attempted murder dates back to May 2023.
At that time, following a dispute that occurred in the Pavia area of the municipality of Mora, the now detained man allegedly caused serious injuries to another man with a broken glass bottle and since then his condition has remained in an uncertain state.
Following police investigation and with the cooperation of PSP, the SP located and apprehended the suspect in the Qasem area.
The detainee was present today in the Evora court for the first judicial interrogation; a preventive measure was applied to him in the form of preventive detention.
