Does starting the week with rain upset you? Don’t worry. Despite the bad weather this Monday, a general increase in temperatures and a general improvement in the weather in the north and south of the country is expected this week. According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), the heat wave will arrive in Portugal, and by the weekend temperatures in some regions may rise to 30 degrees Celsius.
The forecast for this Monday calls for a drop in temperature, with pperiods of rain in the southern region, in Greater Lisbon and the Grand Porto. On Tuesday, no more precipitation is expected across most of the country, with minimum temperatures expected to drop and maximum temperatures to rise slightly. Temperatures, especially highs, are expected to rise from Wednesday onwards.
Cities such as Braga, Évora and Santarem are expected to experience temperatures between 27 and 30 degrees from Thursday to Sunday. In Porto and Lisbon, maximum temperatures reach 25 and 27 degrees, respectively.
