Biden accuses Trump of putting women at risk on abortion

United States President and Democratic re-election candidate Joe Biden on Monday accused his Republican rival Donald Trump of putting women’s health at risk by advocating for states to decide on abortion access.

Biden made the charge in response to Trump, who released a video message in which he ruled out defending a national abortion ban if he wins the election, arguing that each of the 50 North American states should pass their own legislation on the issue. .

In his statement, Biden recalled that Trump bears primary responsibility for the decision of the Supreme Court – with a conservative majority and three justices appointed by the former Republican president – that in 2022 struck down federal control legislation protecting abortion access that had been banned. has been in operation since 1973.
