The Attorney General of the Republic, Lucília Gago, criticized the “toxic positivity” of “certain public interventions in justice,” saying they belong to “alternative idyllic scenarios” where “the naked truth is very obvious and discouraging.”
“In a significant number of cases, the premises, furniture, equipment, number of judges and prosecutors are insufficient or inadequate to meet the requirements,” explained Lucília Gago at the inauguration of the new director of the regional DIAP in Coimbra. Jorge Leitão leaves the leadership of the Judicial Police of Coimbra.
He also spoke of a “discursive bipolarity” that sometimes “empties the direction of criminal investigations” and sometimes “uses impressive considerations” to “sacralize the space reserved for justice.”
