Brazil’s government showed solidarity with Mozambique after a fishing boat carrying more than 130 people sank on Sunday, killing at least 98 people, according to officials.
“It is with great sadness that the Government of Brazil learned of the death of more than 90 people on Sunday when a ship sank off the coast of Nampula province, off the island of Mozambique. a renowned tourist destination and a UNESCO World Heritage Site,” Brazil’s Foreign Ministry said on Monday.
Showing “solidarity for the recorded loss of life, the Brazilian government expresses its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and the government of Mozambique,” he added.
