Banco Santander obtains a record profit of 9,605 million in 2022 and exceeds the ceiling reached in 2007

The Santander Bank obtained a record profit of 9.605 million euros in 2022, 18% more with respect to 2021, as reported by the entity this Thursday.

These benefits exceed the ceiling reached in 2007 by the entity chaired by Ana Botín (9060 million).

“2022 has again been a very good year for Santander: we increased the customer base profitably and maintained a very solid balance sheet. Thanks to this, the profit per share has increased by 23% and the cash dividend per share, by 16%”, highlighted the president of Banco Santander.

Looking ahead to this year, Banco Santander expects “central banks and governments to continue prioritizing the reduction of inflation”, that is, to continue raising interest rates.

These results come after those announced, also record-breaking, by BBVA: 6,420 million, 38% more than in 2021.
