The investigation began on April 2, after The National Police of Salamanca alerted the Spanish armed forces that the boy was admitted to the Nuestra Señora de Sonzoles hospital in Avila due to poisoning.

According to the Spanish press, authorities determined that the parents took the child to the hospital because he was suffering from “abnormal and unstable behavior.” Tests were carried out at the hospital and the results were positive for acute cannabis poisoning.

The boy was discharged the next day and placed in temporary care. social services of Castile and León, and authorities are investigating the circumstances of the poisoning, namely whether it was “accidental consumption or not.”
