A 40-year-old man was arrested by PJ do Sul on suspicion of the death of the owner of a ball factory in Berlin, Albufeira, in October 2019.
Victim Jose Silva, 61, was approached on company premises where he was alone. After the attack, she was bound and gagged.
He was ultimately unable to resist his injuries as officers found his body. It is reported that the motive for the crime was related to the theft of large sums of money that the victim kept in the company and at home. He was heard by a judge and remanded in custody.
According to the statement of the SP, the arrest of the suspect was the result of an investigation by the Southern Directorate of the SP, combined with an examination carried out by the Scientific Police Laboratory, which allowed the collection of identification data on the man and thus the identification of the issuance of arrest warrants by the Department of Investigations and Criminal Affairs of Albufeira.
