Five men dressed as beekeepers robbed several shops in a shopping center in Viseu and caused more than 20 thousand euros in damage. Thieves also tried to break into a jewelry store in the city using a crowbar, but were unsuccessful.
It all happened early on Sunday morning in the Vizocentre building. They broke through the fence and entered through the main door. From the Convida restaurant we took the CashDro machine, which makes payments automatically. “One car costs eight thousand euros, plus the money that was inside, it would be about ten thousand euros, plus the money they took from another cash drawer. The damage amounts to several thousand euros,” explained an employee of the shopping center who saw the video surveillance footage. “They were dressed in beekeeper costumes. They also broke down the door of the dental clinic. They still searched, but found no money. They also tried a convenience store,” he added. They fled at high speed in a BMW. In the city center they tried to break into a jewelry workshop. Authorities are investigating.
